Privacy Policy
Cockpit puts widgets with your own car, your name and your chosen color on CarPlay and your iPhone, and greets you by name when your car connects. This page explains in plain language what information is kept where, who receives it and what we don't do.
In short
- No account. You don't sign up, and you don't give us an email address or phone number.
- Your name, nickname, car name, style, slogan and car photo stay only on your phone. They are not sent to us, and we cannot see them.
- The welcome sound is generated on your phone. The name it reads out never leaves your phone.
- Location, microphone, camera and contacts are not used.
- Information that leaves your phone goes to two services: RevenueCat, which verifies purchases, and the Meta (Facebook) SDK, which measures ads. Your advertising identifier (IDFA) is shared only if you allow it.
- We don't sell your information.
1. Who we are
Cockpit is a Rexx Studio app. The app is developed and published by Valeria Şengün (individual developer), who is also the data controller. When this page says "we", it means her. You can reach us at the address at the bottom.
2. Information kept on your phone
The information you enter and choose in the app is stored in a shared folder on your phone. This folder (Apple's "App Group" container) can only be read by Cockpit and its own widgets; the widgets take your name and your car from there.
| Information | Where is it kept? | Does it reach us? |
|---|---|---|
| Your name and chosen nickname | Only on your phone | No |
| Your car name (the make or model name you type) | Only on your phone | No |
| Your chosen style (color) and slogan | Only on your phone | No |
| Your car photo and its cut-out version | Only on your phone | No |
| Your chosen welcome sound and the generated sound files | Only on your phone | No |
| Your subscription's end date (a copy kept to unlock the widgets) | On your phone | No; for the purchase record see section 6 |
3. Car photo
You choose your car photo with the iOS system photo picker. The picker gives the app only the photo you select; Cockpit does not ask for access to your whole photo library. The photo's background is removed on your phone with Apple's Vision technology, then it is cropped and resized for the widget and stored on your phone. The photo is never uploaded to any server.
4. Welcome sound
The welcome sound is generated on your phone. For Turkish, the app uses the open-source EMA Lightning voice model; the model ships inside the app and runs on your phone with Apple's Core ML technology. For other languages, the built-in iOS speech synthesis is used. The text the voice reads (for example "Welcome, your name") never leaves your phone. The generated sound file is kept in a cache on your phone so that it doesn't have to be generated again every time.
5. Widgets, Live Activity and Shortcuts
The widgets, the Live Activity (the "Welcome" card in the Dynamic Island and on CarPlay) and the Shortcuts automation ("When CarPlay connects") run entirely on your phone. When your car connects, the automation is triggered by the iOS Shortcuts app. Location is not used for any of this; the timer on the card only shows the time since your car connected.
6. Information that leaves your phone
Apple App Store
Purchases and payments are handled by the App Store through your Apple account. We never see your card or payment details. The app asks Apple's purchase system (StoreKit) whether your subscription is active. Your purchase records are subject to Apple's own policy.
RevenueCat (subscription and purchase verification)
Subscriptions and purchases are verified and managed with the RevenueCat, Inc. service. Through this connection, the following may be processed:
- an anonymous app user ID specific to the app (it is not linked to your name or email);
- your purchase history (which plan, when it started, when it ends, store transaction details);
- technical information such as device and app version;
- country and, as with any internet connection, your IP address.
RevenueCat's own policy: revenuecat.com/privacy
Meta (Facebook) SDK: app events
To measure whether our ads work and to improve them, the app uses the SDK (App Events) of Meta Platforms, Inc. This SDK sends Meta:
- app install and app open events;
- purchase events;
- device and app information (for example device model, iOS and app version) and, as the connection requires, your IP address;
- your advertising identifier (IDFA), only if you allow it (see section 7).
Meta processes this information under its own policy: facebook.com/privacy/policy
Your name, nickname, car name, photo and sound text are sent neither to RevenueCat nor to Meta. RevenueCat and Meta are based in the United States, so the limited information above may be transferred outside Türkiye, including to the US.
7. Advertising identifier and permission
To use your advertising identifier (IDFA), Cockpit asks for your permission with the iOS "App Tracking Transparency" prompt. Your advertising identifier is shared with Meta only if you tap "Allow" in this prompt. If you don't allow it, the advertising identifier is not shared, and all features of the app still work. You can change your choice at any time on your iPhone in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
8. What we don't do
- We don't show ads in the app.
- Apart from the Meta SDK, we don't use any analytics or usage statistics tools.
- We have no server of our own; we don't store the information you enter.
- Location, microphone, camera and contacts are not used, and no permission is requested for them.
- We don't use cookies.
- We don't sell or rent your personal information.
9. Data deletion
- Data on your phone: just delete Cockpit from your phone. Deleting the app removes all of the app's and its widgets' data on your phone, including your name, nickname, car name, photo, style and sound files. If your phone's iCloud or computer backup is on, older backups may still contain a copy of this data; this depends on your device's own settings.
- Subscription: deleting the app does not cancel your subscription. To cancel, go to Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your iPhone.
- Data held by RevenueCat and Meta: if you want your data at these services deleted, send an email with the subject "Data deletion request" to support@rexxstudio.app. To help us find your record, include the order number from your App Store receipt if you have one. We forward your request to the relevant services and reply to you within 30 days at the latest. Apple and RevenueCat may keep part of the purchase records for their own retention periods because of legal obligations such as accounting and tax.
10. Your rights and requests
We don't process the information on your phone; it is all in your hands and you can delete it at any time. For the limited information sent to RevenueCat and Meta, under the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK) and, where applicable, the GDPR, you have the right to access your information, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and object to its processing. You can send your request to the address below; we reply within 30 days at the latest. If you are not satisfied with our reply, you have the right to complain to the Turkish Personal Data Protection Authority (kvkk.gov.tr) or to the data protection authority in your country.
11. Children's privacy
Cockpit is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children of that age.
12. Security
Your information is kept in the app's storage on your phone and protected by your phone's own safeguards (screen lock, device encryption). Communication with RevenueCat and Meta uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection.
13. Changes
When the app changes, for example if a new service is added, we update this page and change the effective date at the top. If a change expands the way we collect information, we will also announce it in the app.
14. Contact
For questions, requests or deletion: support@rexxstudio.app
See the Terms of Use for the rules of use and Support for help. This policy is also available in Turkish; if the two versions differ, the Turkish version prevails.
